Gabriela: First impressions - My opening week in Lisbon

Hello, I'm Gabriela, and currently I am in Lisbon. My first week here has been incredible, and I’m excited to take you along on my four-week stay. I'm living with nine other girls in a shared apartment, which has been a fun experience so far. My internship takes place in a company that offers wine tastings of exquisite portuguese wines.

During the weekend, I visited some of Lisbon's most iconic landmarks. First, I paid a visit to “Belém”, a quiet district located at the Tejo river. The “Torre de Belém”, a historical fortification tower and one of the city's symbols, was stunning and imposing. Belém is also very famous for the delicious "Pasteis de Nata," small and sweet custard tarts. Highly impressive was “Mosteiro dos Jerónimos” as well, a breathtaking monestry.

On Sunday I explored the majestic “Castelo de São Jorge”, offering panoramic and stunning views of Lisbon. Afterwards, while strolling through the narrow, but beautiful streets of the Alfama district, I felt the heartbeat of Lisbon's historic charm.

The weather has been warm but not too hot, perfect for exploring Lisbon's streets. This city is a blend of history, culture, and beauty, and I’m already in love with it. I can't wait for the coming week!
