David M.: Wonderful Week 2 in Crete

Hard to believe that my internship is already halfway through. Very saddening on one hand, but on the other hand, I am very happy that I still have half of my Erasmus adventure on this beautiful island in front of me!

This week I really got comfortable with my job placement, selling a few excursions and meeting some new colleagues, 2 Erasmus+ students from Germany. I would say that I am now quite used to the work environment and other aspects of the local culture, that were unusual at first.

I have also become pretty comfortable with the warmer climate of Crete compared to Austria.

Similar to week one, most of our free time was spent at the local beach, and most of the evenings we sat on our balcony playing cards or just relaxing, enjoying the warm temperature and the view.

On Friday we went night swimming in the sea, which was a lot of fun for sure. The highlight of the week was the trip to Agios Nikolaos and Voulisma beach on Sunday, which was organised by the agency. Voulisma beach with its clear water is absolutely stunning, and Agios Nikolaos is a vibrant seaside town.

There I also finally got to try Moussaka, a traditional greek dish, which I found to be very tasty.

All in all, this week was even more enjoyable than the first one, and I am really looking forward to the rest of my time here, because we still have a lot of things planned for the rest of our stay.
