Anna: last days in Stockholm

Hi all,

This week is/was already our last week. Therefore, we enjoyed the city and did the last souvenir shopping. We (sadly) ate our last cinnamon roll, which I will definitely miss at home. Furthermore, we explored some new areas in the city and in total we did a lot.

We went to Skansen, the world’s oldest open-air museum located on Djurgården island. This fascinating attraction showcases Sweden’s history and culture through a collection of traditional houses, farms, and workshops. Walking through Skansen felt like stepping back in time, and the zoo featuring native Scandinavian animals.

In the evening we spent time at Gröna Lund, an amusement park in the heart of the city. The views from the roller coasters over Stockholm were stunning and the rides thrilling.

On the weekend we made a day trip to Nynäshamn, a small town in the south of Stockholm and on the other day to Vaxholm, the “capital” island of the archipelago. Both trips were really nice and a great opportunity to escape from the city life. The ferry ride to and from Vaxholm offered stunning views of the surrounding islands.

One of the highlights of our trip was the Pink concert. The energy and excitement of the crowd, combined with Pink's incredible performance, made an unforgettable evening.

Overall the Erasmus + stay in Stockholm was awesome. As you read in our blogs we experienced a lot and got an great insight into the Swedish lifestyle. I also want to thank Palfinger AB in Jordbro for the great work experiences and I will miss the common coffee breaks (in Sweden called Fika). The team was nice and I learned a lot.

I am glad, I participated in the program and defiantly recommend it to everyone.

Our four weeks in this fascinating city were truly unforgettable, and I can’t wait to return one day.

Anna
