Ciao a tutti
As my time in Florence comes to an end, I’ve been reflecting on the experiences I’ve had here, especially in comparison to my previous Erasmus+ stay in Lisbon. It’s been an incredible journey, full of beauty and discovery, but also some longing for places I’ve been before.
In many ways, Florence has been a visual feast. The city center is like an open-air museum, filled with stunning architecture and art that takes your breath away. Every walk through the narrow streets reveals another masterpiece, whether it's a hidden fresco or an impressive piazza. The suburbs, too, offer their own charm with beautiful landscapes and quaint towns like Settignano.
However, when I think back to my time in Lisbon, there’s a different kind of warmth that comes to mind. Lisbon was all about the people. The locals were incredibly kind and welcoming, making it easy to feel at home from the start. The vibrant culture and the sense of community there left a lasting impression on me, making Lisbon a more enriching experience overall.
As I prepare to leave Florence, I find myself missing another place that holds a special place in my heart: Salzburg. There’s something about Salzburg’s serene beauty and musical heritage that makes me long to visit again. It’s funny how each city leaves its own unique mark on you.
All in all, while Florence has been an unforgettable chapter with its stunning sights and rich history, Lisbon’s friendly vibe and the connections I made there make it a standout in my Erasmus+ adventures. Each city has its own magic, and I’m grateful to have experienced them all.
Thank you for following along on my journey. Florence, you’ve been amazing, and I’ll carry the memories with me always.
Until next time,
Alexander Nitsch
